Sounds ridiculous, right? Because who does laundry these days without a washing machine.. That's how kids today look at us developers from before 2025. The kind who actually wrote the code themselves.
My son (9) got an assignment from the English teacher to memorize words for his test. I suggested we build a memory game using Gemini. We explained what we wanted and typed in the words, and it created the code and the game before our eyes.
I tried to explain to him what code is, the thing computers can now produce on their own, and I felt like an old man explaining to a young person that once upon a time people sent telegrams or called on a wired phone (Bezeq) or looked things up in an encyclopedia that sat in the city library... We all at once joined the history pages of records, discs, floppy disks, DOS, Windows and... writing code
And always in hindsight it seems strange that people used to do that
Like my aspiration to live to see an era in which nobody drives a car themselves anymore, and not only without manual gears
To the future 🥂
