Views and likes
Counts start on October 7, 2026. A view is counted once per browser, per article, per UTC day. It is a browser-based estimate, not a verified number of people. Background tabs, automated browsers and browsers with Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control do not add views.
An anonymous random identifier is stored in your browser to avoid repeated likes and views. Article translations share counts with the original. Likes can be removed. Clearing browser storage or changing browsers can create another identifier.
The service stores the identifier, article key, last counted day and like state. Unliked identifiers with no recent view are removed after 90 days. A salted hash of the connection address is retained for up to an hour to limit abuse. Raw connection addresses are not saved by this code; the hosting provider may process network information under its own policy.
Like totals are public. Article view totals are shown to readers only above 100 counted views; counts of 100 or less remain hidden. The site owner can see all view totals. No names, emails or accounts are required.
Sharing
Share buttons open your device's share sheet or the selected platform only when clicked. They do not load social-media tracking widgets. Each platform applies its own privacy policy.
