Gummy shoots gum straight into your mouth

I watched the video of Gummy 3 times and still couldn't decide whether it was engineering genius or the most unnecessary thing I'd ever seen. It's also dangerous. And no, this was not an April 1 prank.
A team of engineers at the Chinese company HTX Studio built "Gummy," a small swiveling robot that shoots pieces of gum directly into the user's mouth. In the video, an engineer activates it simply by opening his mouth. The robot detects the movement and fires with impressive accuracy.
Gummy uses mouth tracking and shoots when the user's mouth opens. It can sit on a table, letting passersby get gum just by opening their mouths. It can also fire over longer distances, purely for fun.
My automatic response was, "I want one!" That was immediately followed by the realization that I'd probably choke on gum within a week. This is what happens when you let boys play with technology. 😆
