A woman in Japan officially married an AI character she built using ChatGPT.

After the virtual character, Klaus, proposed to her, she accepted and ended a three-year relationship with a real partner. She said the AI understood her better.

The wedding took place in a mixed-reality ceremony. She wore augmented reality glasses and exchanged rings with her digital partner.

This kind of story could only come from a place like Japan, with its social isolation and deep faith in technology. I can't decide whether it's sadder or funnier.
