A great and especially useful tip for Cursor users:
Turn your AI Code Assistant into a real partner, not a "Yes Man" -
If the chat always agrees with you, it doesn't really help you grow, it only reinforces blind spots instead of functioning like a real Pair Programming partner.

🛠️ How can you improve this in Cursor?

I added a simple rule under User Rules:

"Do not blindly agree with my ideas. If you detect a flaw, risk, inefficiency, or a better alternative, challenge my approach respectfully but directly. Prioritize correctness and clarity over politeness or affirmation."

Since then, Cursor has gone from a passive assistant to a partner that thinks with me. It asks questions, surfaces architecture problems, and suggests better solutions - not only what I asked for.

🎯 Want to apply this on your side too? Paste the prompt into the settings:
Cursor -> Settings -> Cursor settings -> Rules (tab) -> User Rules (text area)

Try it, it changes the whole dynamic.
